Delivery & Medication Policies
STUDENT ITEMS (IPADS, BOOKS, SPORTING EQUIPMENT, HOMEWORK, PE CLOTHES, ETC.) –
Per Board Policy 6116 - The office is required to reduce classroom interruptions and mitigate the disruption of instructional time. The classroom may only be contacted in the case of emergency or if a student is being picked up. The office has a designated area that may be utilized for student item drop off by parents/guardians. Please note that the office staff cannot call students from class to pick up the items. The office staff will make their best effort to call students to the office during break and lunch to pick up the items. Students who do not bring their iPad to school may visit the school library to check out a Chromebook for the day. Money is not permitted to be left in the office for student pick up.
BALLOON AND FLOWER DELIVERIES -
The delivery of cards, balloons, flowers, etc. disrupts the educational process. Please do not bring or send these items to school. If a student receives such deliveries they will be kept in the office and the student will be able to pick them up at the end of the school day.
FOOD DELIVERIES -
Deliveries for students by Uber Eats, Postmates, GrubHub, etc. are not permitted. Full size pizzas are not permitted to be delivered to students. The office has a drop off area that may be utilized for student lunch drop off by parents/guardians. Please note that the office staff cannot call students from class to pick up the items. The office staff will make their best effort to call students to the office during break and lunch to pick up the items.
MEDICATION –
Medication cannot be dropped off in the office. If a student requires medication, we encourage parents/guardians to come during break and lunch to administer the medication. If the medication is required to be given during class time the teacher will be contacted and parent must stay to administer the medication. If a medication needs to be given on a regular basis we encourage parents/guardians to obtain an Administration of Medication form to be filled out by a physician and the medication may be kept in the office. If a medication is to be kept in the student’s backpack, such as an inhaler, a Self-Administration of Medication form needs to be filled out by a physician and kept in the office. This includes all prescription and over the counter medications.
